Tiger Women Drop 61-48 Decision to LU
The University of West
Alabama women’s basketball team dropped a 61-48 decision to
Lambuth in non-conference action on Saturday. LU (12-7)
outscored the Tigers (3-15) 36-13 in the second half to register
its fourth straight win and fifth over Gulf South Conference
competition this season.

North Alabama’s Jameica York knocked down two free throws
securing a 51-46 victory over the University of West Alabama in
Gulf South Conference East Division action. The pair of shots
from the charity stripe followed a UWA (3-13) three-pointer by
Erin Courington with 13 seconds remaining in the contest that
would have tied the game at 49-all. UWA falls to 0-2 in GSC play
as the Lions improve to 2-1 in conference and 8-10 overall.

Game Times Changes For UWA Hoops
Against West Georgia
The University of West Alabama Department of Athletics has
announced a game time change for UWA’s men’s and women’s home
contests against Gulf South Conference foe West Georgia on
Saturday, Jan. 23.
The women’s contest will tip off at 5 p.m. while the men will
get underway at 7 p.m. Both games were originally scheduled to
tip off at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. respectively. |

Henry Named UWA
Defensive Coordinator

Alabama Department of Athletics has announced the hiring of
Robert Henry as Defensive Coordinator of the UWA football team.
Henry comes to Livingston after serving in the same capacity at
Henderson State University for the past five seasons. Henry (55)
replaces Andy Greening, who left to coach at Northwest
Mississippi Community College in Senatobia, Miss.

Participates in 2010 Cactus Bowl
The University of West Alabama’s J. D. Douglas
participated in the 2010 Valero Cactus Bowl at Javelina Stadium
in Kingsville, Texas on the campus of the University of Texas
A&M at Kingsville. Douglas finished the game with four tackles
and a pass break up in the East All-Stars’ 16-0 loss to the West
All-Stars.
